I suppose this was a form of a birthday present. Saturday morning we discovered that a local stray tuxedo we had been feeding, and suspected to be Cleo's mom, had been taking up residence with four kittens behind our garage. We contacted a feral cat rescue group, Catalyst For Cats, based in Santa Barbara County for help. There is a lot we can do but fostering four kittens isn't one of them. Pito is sort of a special needs cat and having these little ones in the bathroom for just one night (they were trying to scale our fences so we felt compelled to bring them in) was almost too much for him.
Now they are safe with a foster mom waiting on a full time foster family. The goal is to tame them so they can be adopted out to good homes. So now, may I introduce: Our little kittens!
 |
This little is thought to be female. |
 |
This little tuxedo is thought to be male. |
 |
This tuxedo is also thought to be male, and the smallest. |
 |
Also thought to be male and the alpha of the bunch. |
So we are now officially looking for forever homes for these little ones. They are 5 to 6 weeks old. They will need to be fixed and fully vaccinated. If you are local and interested please let me know!
Their mom is going to be trapped, fixed, and returned to our property to be our outdoor cat, if she chooses to hang around. Fixing feral cats is a humane way to treat cat overpopulation. If you want more information please visit

Alley Cat Allies.
Cheers,
this little bird and friends
